‘Canes blow past Cougars

Highlighted by Chris Gaines’ two-run homer, the Huntingtown Hurricanes erupted for five second-inning runs and went on to a 10-0, six-inning win over the visiting Thomas Stone Cougars on Thursday.

Billy Gaines tacked on a solo shot to lead off the bottom of the fifth, as Huntingtown scored two in the fifth and three more in the sixth to bring the contest to an early end. Spencer Wolfe went five shutout innings to notch the win.
